Resistance - Democracy - Internationality

A cooperation project with the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen

Project description

Adam von Trott studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and completed his doctorate in international law. In memory of the Göttingen alumnus and based on his life, work and thinking, the Foundation Adam von Trott, Imshausen e.V. and the University of Göttingen worked closely together from 2017 to 2022. In this collaboration, we developed a variety of projects in research and teaching as well as public formats on the topic of "Resistance - Democracy - Internationality". These included conferences & workshops, lectures, seminars and offers for school classes, scholarships & project seminars for students as well as further training for teachers.

Another partner in this cooperation was the Adam von Trott Memorial Appeal, which is based at Mansfield College, Oxford University, and on whose initiative an"Adam von Trott Memorial Lecture" has been held at Mansfield College every year since 2004. Prominent speakers have already been recruited, including Timothy Garton Ash (2004), Sir Ian Kershaw (2010) and MP Thomas Oppermann (2018).

The project was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
